Reporting to the NorthBEAT Lead / Physician Research and the Manager Library and Research Services, the NorthBEAT Engagement Coordinator (NEC) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive stakeholder engagement process for the NorthBEAT Collaborative (the Collaborative). As a member of the Collaborative team, the NEC is also responsible for supporting the main activities and outputs of the Collaborative, including service mapping, eLearning development, and knowledge translation initiatives as required.

NorthBEAT Engagement Coordinator

Reporting to the NorthBEAT Lead / Physician Research and the Manager Library and Research Services, the NorthBEAT Engagement Coordinator (NEC) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive stakeholder engagement process for the NorthBEAT Collaborative (the Collaborative). As a member of the Collaborative team, the NEC is also responsible for supporting the main activities and outputs of the Collaborative, including service mapping, eLearning development, and knowledge translation initiatives as required.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Develops, implements, evaluates, and maintains the Collaborative’s stakeholder engagement process for all stakeholder groups, including service providers, community groups and organizations, youth, and families.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and facilitates meetings with stakeholders and advisors, including preparing agendas and taking minutes.
  • Coordinates and attends meetings and initiatives related to the Collaborative’s Youth Advisory Group and Family and Lived Experience Advisory Group.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Collaborative members, advisors, vendors, and the Collaborative team; maintains contact log to track communication with stakeholders.
  • Participates as a resource person or group member at educational and community events.
  • Triages incoming stakeholder communications/requests.
  • Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Collaborative with other members of the team.
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of project activities; monitors and evaluates projects and outputs and redirects or adjusts work plan as required within scope of the Collaborative.
  • Supports the development and circulation of resources, educational materials, eLearning modules, communication materials, etc.
  • Contributes to knowledge translation activities, including but not limited to project newsletters, scientific presentations and publications, technical reports, and executive summaries.
  • Contributes to draft reports as required for funding agencies and sponsoring organization(s).
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to clerical/administrative support as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Post-secondary qualifications in the humanities, social sciences, or a health-related field
  • Significant experience in a coordinating role-supporting program implementation
  • Thorough knowledge of Northwestern Ontario’s context, resources, and community services

Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing, to a variety of audiences that builds support, educates and promotes understanding
  • Ability to deliver presentations to a variety of stakeholders, community, and/or groups using language appropriate to the audience
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with a variety of stakeholders including service providers, youth, families, and individuals with lived experience of mental illness
  • Strong project/time management, analytical/critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Proficiency with office computer equipment and software
  • Competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Assets

  • Fluency in oral and written French or other language
  • Project management experience and knowledge of SJCG operations
  • Experience in mental health, youth services, early psychosis intervention, and/or community engagement
  • Experience with design software (i.e., Adobe InDesign)
